A Polish Tip

Here is a polish tip.
Once you have removed all polish. Use a manicure brush and a mild soap and gently scrub your nails. Do it for a good minute on each hand. Don't forget to scrub underneath the nail plate too. Rinse and dry well. Now rub lotion into your hands, massaging your nails too and wait about 5 minutes. After about 5 minutes, use an alcohol pad or a Q-tip moistened with alcohol, and clean the surface of your nail and underneath the nail plate too.
When you have completed this step, and the alcohol has evaporated and the nail is dry, apply your basecoat and allow it to dry thoroughly before you begin applying your polish. Make sure you brush underneath the edge of the nail plate also. One of the biggest causes of a manicure not lasting is improper application. You have to allow the basecoat to dry completely. This is very important. Depending on the brand and the amount (thin or thick coat), this step should take 3-5 minutes. The longer you wait, the better.
Now apply your polish, even a bit on the underside of your nail. The idea is to seal the edge of the nail plate. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve, be it a french manicure or a regular polish, the most important thing now is to let it dry between coats. Then as a finishing touch, apply a top coat. I use different brands as my first top coat. Then the second day after my polish application, I apply a coat of Gena brand: Healthy Hoof, lacquer. I got my bottle on Amazon for about $3.00. I do this every night or every other night. It works wonderfully, I have had a manicure last 2 weeks without chipping.
