With regards to 'Sandy'

To all who have had their lives changed by Hurricane Sandy, my thoughts and prayers are with you all! By God's grace and mercy, all of my family, friends and loved ones were spared any major damage. We got some snow in the mountains of Virginia, so when it melts, plus with all the rain, we will have some flooding as the water travels across the state, going down to a lower elevation, as it heads to the Atlantic Ocean. I'm sure we'll be okay. If you have never visited Virginia, I hope someday you will. 100 miles west of Richmond is the Blue Ridge Mountains. Go 100 miles east and you're in Virginia Beach. It's beautiful here, come visit.
Have a great rest of the week, be safe God bless!

Why I'm Nonna's Pretties

Hi everyone!  I am new to this so please be patient with me. I have seen some wonderful blogs, have learned a lot from them and hope to get this blog going. I have a lot to offer.
Let me tell you about me. I am a retired cosmetologist. Still loving all things beauty, but nails have absolutely been a lifelong passion.  I have grown children and a variety of grandchildren. The youngest is why my blog is called Nonna's Pretties. About a year ago, she was 2½ and came by with her mother, for an unexpected visit. Her name is Christiana. I didn't have my nails polished that day, I was doing some maintenance on them. Well, when she saw no polish, she looked at me, held my hand up and with the most concerned tone in her voice said "Nonna, no pretties? You sick today Nonna?" She kissed my hand and hugged me. It touched my heart deeply, she is such a special child and one of my many blessings! So this blog is dedicated to all my grandaughters; Kelsey, Ciera, Tatiana, Sydnie and Christiana.
Onward to happy blogging! Have a great rest of the day! Be safe and thanks for reading Nonna's Pretties.
